Arato Horimoto Joins the National Council of Tesori d’Europa as International Advisor for EU-Japan Relations

Tesori d’Europa is pleased to welcome Arato Horimoto to its National Council, where he will serve as International Advisor for EU-Japan Relations, further strengthening the Network’s European and international outlook.
A highly respected professional, Arato Horimoto represents a genuine and concrete bridge between Italy, Europe, and Japan. His personal and professional journey combines a strong academic background in Italy, completed at the University of Milano-Bicocca, with more than twenty years of life and work experience in Japan, gained across a wide range of sectors and contexts. Born and raised in Milan, a city to which he remains deeply connected and where his roots remain strong, Horimoto has transformed his bicultural path into a highly strategic competence: that of an international facilitator, capable of supporting businesses, tourism operators, and cultural institutions in entering and consolidating their presence in the Japanese market.
In an increasingly interconnected global landscape, yet one in which Japan continues to preserve distinctive characteristics, codes, and differences from Italy and Europe, the contribution of a figure such as Arato Horimoto is especially valuable. His ability to interpret and bridge languages, institutional dynamics, and relationship models between different worlds is a key asset for anyone seeking to build strong and lasting ties with the Far East. An important recognition of his profile came with his selection as Economic and Commercial Officer at the Italy Pavilion at Expo Osaka 2025, where he supported the marketing management team in relations with Japanese institutions and companies. This was a significant role carried out during a historic edition of the Universal Exposition, in which the Italy Pavilion was awarded the Gold Medal for Theme Development, a milestone never before achieved by Italy at a World Expo.

Since January 2026, Arato Horimoto has also served as Far East Managing Director of Tesori d’Italia Network, with responsibility for overseeing the organization’s offices in Japan. This appointment reflects the Network’s determination to strengthen its international presence and deepen its engagement with a strategically important region such as Asia, while promoting Italy’s cultural, tourism, and economic excellence in a market of exceptional interest. Arato Horimoto’s appointment to the National Council of Tesori d’Europa therefore marks an important step in the organization’s growth and international development. His experience, global vision, and deep understanding of the dynamics between the European Union and Japan will make a meaningful contribution to the creation of new projects, partnerships, and opportunities for cooperation.
With great enthusiasm and esteem, Tesori d’Europa warmly welcomes Arato Horimoto, confident that his contribution will play a key role in strengthening the ties between Europe and Japan and in fostering new synergies in the fields of business, tourism, culture, and institutional relations.
